Derek has 37 years experience delivering manufacturable innovations in diverse industries from surgical navigation to power tools. He has won multiple design awards in the IDEA, Good Design, and Appliance Design competitions. He currently holds 16 patents, and spearheads our commitment to developing our own products and creating licensing opportunities. He holds an Industrial Design degree from the University of Bridgeport.

Amy Potts has been designing products for 35 years. Her work has been recognized by IDEA, Consumer Electronics Show, and Appliance Design. The Italian design magazine, Ottagono, selected her for a feature article on 4 women designers in the United States. She is a featured lecturer and advisor on product development and green design at universities including MIT, Clark, Tufts, WPI, Carnegie Mellon, UMass Lowell and RISD. She has an Industrial Design degree from Carnegie Mellon. 

2023- We are honored to announce that the Flow Cell Assembly Device by Stream PD and Akoya Biosciences has been recognized in the 2023 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) as a Featured Finalist, Medical and Health Category by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). “Each year, thousands of entries are submitted by designers across the globe in hopes of securing a highly prized IDEA recognition. Past IDEA winners are some of the most successful and significant products ever created. They change people’s lives, create new industries, and ignite imaginations.” - IDSA.

2022- Stream PD expands in-house capabilities with a new large format SLA 3D printer, used for fine detail of 25 microns with a smooth surface finish and multiple materials such as clear, elastomeric and engineered resins. It can do biocompatible materials as well. The print capacity is large enough to print full size adult and pediatric anatomy. Suitable for prototypes of medical devices, rugged industrial products and consumer goods.

2022- Stream PD expands in-house capabilities with a new 3D Scanner. We can now generate CAD data for internal components, body parts for wearables, and on-site organic mounting surfaces. It's also great for reverse engineering of existing components where no CAD data exists.
